Many things can make your eyes feel dry, gritty, or uncomfortable: air conditioning, heating, computer use, reading, some medication, wind or a reduction of tears your body produces - tears that help lubricate and nourish your eyes. Optive Lubricant Eye Drops advances dry eye relief by providing a dual-action formula that moisturizes the surface of your eye while also hydrating the areas where dry-eye starts, giving your eyes long-lasting moisturizing protection. Optive contains a unique, mild, non-sensitizing preservative PURITE which ultimately breaks down into natural tear components on the eye (sodium chloride and water).

Indications:
For the temporary relief of burning, irritation and discomfort due to dryness of the eye or exposure to wind or sun. May be used as a protectant against further irritation.

Dosage and Directions For Use:

• Instill 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed.
• Concomitant ocular medications should be administered at least 5 minutes apart from the instillations of Optive to avoid washout effects.
• Optive is compatible for use with all contact lenses.

Ingredients:

• Carboxymethylcellulose sodium 0.5%
• Glycerin 0.9%
• Boric acid
• Calcium chloride dihydrate
• Erythritol
• Levocarnitine
• Magnesium chloride hexahydrate
• Potassium chloride
• Sodium borate decahydrate
• Sodium citrate dihydrate
• Purified water
• Preservative: Stabilized oxychloro complex (PURITE) 0.01%

Cautions:

• To avoid contamination or possible eye injury, do not touch bottle tip on any surface and avoid contact with the eye. Replace the cap after using.
• Optive bottle should be kept tightly closed when not in use.
• Do not use if Optive packaging shows evidence of tampering.
• Contents are sterile if imprinted seal around cap is intact.
• Do not use if solution changes colour or becomes cloudy.
• Discontinue use of Optive and consult a doctor if the patient experiences eye pain, changes in vision, continued redness or irritation of the eye, or if the conditions worsens or persists for more than 72 hours.
• Do not swallow solution.
• Discard 90 days after opening.
