Cuplaton changes the surface tension of the gastric and intestinal contents, destroying gas bubbles and foaming mucus and enabling gases to coalesce in quantities sufficient to be expelled in the natural way. Cuplaton is nontoxic and is not absorbed by the gastro-intestinal tract, but passes through unchanged.
Indications:
- Flatulence owing to inadequate diet or lack of exercise, for instance during bed rest.
- Aerophagia.
- Postoperative bloating.
- Meteorism due to gastritis or diverticulitis.
- Gastroscopy and X-ray examination of the gastro-intestinal tract.
Directions for Use:
- Adults: 1 capsule 3 times daily after meals and 1 capsule at bedtime/ 1 capsule 4 times daily for a couple of days prior to gastroscopy and X-ray examination of the gastro-intestinal tract.
- Children: Dosage must be individualized by physician.
Ingredients:
- “Antifoam M” which is equivalent to dimethicone 100 mg/capsule.
- Capsule shell contains Sodium Ethyl Paraben 0.2mg and Sodium Propyl Paraben 0.1mg as preservatives.
- Source of gelatin: Bovine.
Caution:
- Do not take if you have hypersensitivity to dimethicone or to any of the ingredients of the preparation.
- Antacids containing aluminium hydroxide and magnesium carbonate adsorb silicone and can impair the effect of dimethicone.
- Dimethicone may increase the absorption of warfarin and digoxin.
